East Road Cemetery Meeting
Concerned citizens are asked to attend a cleaning and restoration meeting for East Road Cemetery located on Sunflower-Itta Bena Road. The meeting will be held at 1p.m. Saturday at Chapman’s Grill in Sunflower. If you have a family member(s) buried in this cemetery, you are asked to have a representative attend this meeting. MVSU
Alumni Meeting
The Sunflower County MVSU Alumni Association’s regular month meeting will be held at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, with a conference call. You may contact Emma Golden at 662-347- 4761 for the telephone number and access code. All alumni and friends of the “Valley” are welcome to join in on the conference call.
Food Box Pick Up
The Sunflower County/Bill Richardson Civic Alliance Group will issue food boxes at the Scout Hut from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, June 8 and from 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Tuesday, June 9 to those certified to receive food boxes. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, no one will be permitted to enter the building. YOU ARE ASKED TO REMAIN IN YOUR VEHICLE. Traffic will be one way only. Please follow further instructions that will be given at the site.
Teacher Workshops

Assistance
The Regions Foundation recently announced grant funding for 10 additional organizations that are helping small businesses impacted by the novel coronavirus. The Regions Foundation is an Alabama-based nonprofit initiative of Regions Bank that supports community investments. One of the recipients receiving grant funding is CompuRecycling Center, Inc., located in Greenville. The nonprofit CompuRecycling Center, Inc. serves as a source of technical assistance for minority, women-owned and emerging businesses throughout the Mississippi Delta. The center is available for day-to-day assistance and counseling for clients whose operations have been affected by the coronavirus. Additionally, the center is working to connect businesses with information and options for contracting with local, state and federal agencies, where possible, during the crisis.
