Mothers & Daughters Luncheon
The NCNW Dorothy I. Height Quad Counties Section of the National Council of Negro Women, Inc. will celebrate its annual Mothers & Daughters Luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Harlow's C.C. in Greenville. The speaker will be the former mayor of Itta Bena, Mrs. Thelma B. Collins and Ms. Cheryl McWhorter of Alabama will render special music. Tickets are $35. MVSU Alumni Meeting
The Sunflower County Mississippi Valley State University Alumni Association will have its regular monthly meeting at 6 p.m. Monday in the First United Baptist Church fellowship hall.. All alumni and friends of the Valley are invited to attend this meeting.
Special Local Advisory Committee Meeting
North Mississippi Rural Legal Services is having a Special Local Advisory Committee meeting to elect an individual in Humphreys, Leflore, Issaquena, Sharkey, Sunflower or Washington County to serve on our Local Advisory Committee, whose purpose is to advise this office of problems that exist in these communities and about providing legal services suited to the needs of these communities. The meeting will be held at the Greenville branch office located at 1024 Washington Avenue, Suite 101, at 5:30 p.m. Monday, December 11. MSU Extension Service
nDue to the Holiday season, the Diabetic Support Group will meet today and December 14th. A lunch is served along with an educational component to help you better understand and manage your diabetes.
nMeditation class will be held at 5:15 p.m. December 5th and 12th at the Extension Office. Please call the office to register for this class at 887-1901. December 5th class will cover the 4 qualities of our transpersonal nature and the December 12th class will allow participants to engage in group meditation and imagery practices for accessing inner wisodm.
