The City of Drew’s Kaboom Park has been vandalized.
The Drew Police Department released photos on its Facebook page this week showing various playground equipment that had been overturned or destroyed by the perpetrators.
“This is what someone did to our new play ground!!,” the post read. “I’m going to say this and only once, when I find out who did this you Will pay the cost and more!! Parents please control your kids or the detention center will. I am very upset and disappointed about this, come on Drew. This was built with the citizens hands for the smaller kids if your not 12 and under do not get caught over here unless you’re the guardian!! I’m Chief Tyler and I approve this message!!!”
The Kaboom Park was built in 2019 with support from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, the City of Drew and We2gether Creating Change.
The park was constructed in one day with help from dozens in the community.
