One of the best songs I have ever heard is “The Impossible Dream.” I heard this song at a high school graduation ceremony in the early ‘70s. To me, it speaks volumes about the hope one can have for him or herself if they apply themselves to a brighter outlook on life and the possibilities it has for them.
The song was written by Joe Darion and composed by Mitch Leigh and used in the 1965 musical ‘Man of La Mancha.’ Since then, it has been recorded and sung by many artists and has become a favorite with many fans.
It is a powerful song that inspires anyone to never give up on his or her dreams. It has a tremendous message of hope, perseverance, and the pursuit of one’s aspirations. It encourages anyone to give their best in anything they dream of and overcome your battles in life. Do not let anyone discourage your quest for life.
Many people have the dream of riches and longevity in life while maintaining great health in a luxury lifestyle. As we go forth in this sinful world many will realize that this impossible dream will never materialize. For those of us who pursue the impossible dream of following
Christ’s lifestyle will also realize that we are sinners, and the fulfillment of this desire will often fall short.
Even though we face difficulties throughout our quest to fulfill our earthly or Christ-centered dreams, we must realize that even though we live imperfect lives, there is one who will help us if we call on Him. Luke 18:27 tells us, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.”
This song is an inspiration to anyone facing a future with unknown consequences and encourages them to never give up. In my opinion it also has a message that you should know God personally and be willing to go forth with His guidance and help, instead of venturing through life on your own. It speaks of fighting the unbeatable foe, bearing the unbeatable sorrows, running where the brave dare not go, and to right the unrightable wrong. It speaks about reaching the unreachable star, which I personally feel is Jesus Christ and He is with you every minute of the day when you establish a personal relationship with Him. He will give you the peace and calmness you want when your life on earth ends.
“To dream the impossible dream” should be sung at every high school graduation with the message of following Christ as the students enter the real world. Sometimes high school graduates don’t realize how this sinful world will test them.
