Fratesi files paperwork to run for re-election in Ward 1

Ward 1 incumbent Alderman Gary Fratesi has filed papers to run for re-election in the October 14 primary.
Fratesi is the second of five aldermen to turn in paperwork. Ward 5 Alderman Sam Brock Jr. has also filed to run for re-election.
The deadline to qualify for Indianola’s municipal race is Aug. 15.

Murry to challenge Brock for Ward 5 seat

Nakala Murry intends to challenge incumbent Indianola Ward 5 Alderman Sam Brock Jr. for his seat in the October primary.
Murry is well-known to the mayor and city board, frequently attending meetings in the aftermath of the May 2023 shooting of her son Aderrien, then 11, apparently by an Indianola police officer.
