Services for Evans Stevenson Jr. of Shelby will be at 11 a.m. Saturday April 26, at Community Chapel Assembly of God, Shelby. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Shelby.
Mr. Stevenson, 79, died Thursday, April 17, 2025, at Shelby Nursing Home.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, April 25, at Byas Funeral Home, Shelby, which is in charge of arrangements.
Pastor Emma Williams will officiate at the services.
Mr. Stevenson is survived by: his wife, Claretha Stevenson; two sons, William Robinson and Evans Stevenson III; two daughters, Mary Ann Stevenson and Flora Ollison; seven brothers, Willie, Levi, David, Michael, Dean, Robert and John Stevenson; two sisters, Marth Stevenson and Hester Jones; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
