The national Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) offers college-bound high school students scholarships. These scholarships are based on merit and grades, not financial need, and can cover up to 100% of college tuition and fees. In exchange for the scholarship, students must commit to serving in the U.S. armed forces after college.

Soldiers fly new flag for veteran’s widow

When attorney Dean Belk noticed that the flag on the property of the late Gerald “Jerry” Leslie Jones was old and tattered, he called in the troops.
Belk represents Jones’ widow, Patsy, and he noticed the banner had seen its better days while visiting the family’s property just north of Indianola.
