Annual Christmas Get Together
The Gentry High School Class of 1968 will have their Annual Christmas Get Together at 6 p.m. Friday at Karen’s Kitchen on the corner of Main and Sunflower Avenue. All ladies are asked to being a covered dish of your choice. If you need a suggestion call the Christmas Food Chairman, Verlee Jackson Ratliff. Please invite at least two guests to help us celebrate the upcoming Christmas holidays.
Christmas Give-A-Way
Ross Ministries School of Discipleship will be giving away Christmas gifts, clothes, food, and toys to those in need from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Full Gospel Church located in Lovelace Shopping Center beside the Tower Loan building. Contact Shirley Ross for more info at 662-303-8320.
B.B. King Museum
There will be yoga class at the museum at 10:00 a.m. Saturday.
Annual Toy Give-A-Way
Jubilee Concert Series presents their Annual Toy Give-A-Way Luncheon from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Crown Restaurant, 112 Front Street. The Crown has a beautiful gift shop for your Christmas shopping. Please bring a toy and join them for lunch. RSVP to 662-207-8316 to make a reservation.
Class of ‘80
The Gentry High School Class of 1980 will meet at 3 p.m. Sunday at Wendy’s. They are asking all class members to be present to discuss plans for their 40th class reunion.
Food Box Pickup
The Sunflower County Bill Richardson Civic Alliance Group will issue food boxes Monday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. to those certified to receive food boxes. Boxes not picked up by 12:15 Tuesday will be issued from 12:15 to 1 p.m. to persons on the waiting list. The group does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability (not all prohibited bases apply to all programs).
Unified in Music Christmas Celebration
SCCSD is proud to announce their Unified in Music Christmas Celebration at 6 p.m. Thursday, December 13 at the MDCC Fine Arts Auditorium, Moorhead 38761. SCCSD bands and choirs from Gentry High School, Robert L. Merritt Junior High and Ruleville Central High School will participate. Admission is FREE.

Ruleville Community Christmas Center
Come out and enjoy a home cooked meal and fellowship with the community of Ruleville from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. December 22 at the William’s Chapel’s Church fellowship hall. Take pictures near the tree, maybe even talk to Santa or be a helper. Donations of goods, food dishes, and financial contributions are accepted. Pick up is available. nThe Sunflower County Extension Service will be offering a class on Cyber Security and Social Media 101 on Thursday, December 6th. Cyber Security 10:00-12:00 & Social Media 101 from 1:30-3:30.
Cyber Security: In a world that relies on digital technology and the World Wide Web, it is important to know the risks associated with using the internet and computers. During this session, participants will learn about malicious software, viruses, identity theft, phishing attempts and the importance of strong passwords to prevent being hacked.
Social Media 101: Today’s top social media outlets are Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat. While all similarly developed to stay social online, they each have very distinct features and functions. Learn how to create and use the top Social Media platforms of 2018.
