Golden diplomas were awarded to six Indianolans at Jackson State University on Friday, April
29. Members of the JSU Class of 1972 received their golden diplomas from Thomas K. Hudson,
J.D, the 12 th president of JSU. The Class of 1972 plans to give a gift of $100,000 for an endowed
scholarship at the university. Two scholarships will be given annually once the endowment is
secured.
Members of the JSU Class of 1972 receiving their golden diplomas were: Gwendolyn Palmer
Ailes (pictured left), Ara M. Mothershed (pictured right) Other recipients include: Betty Barnes, Doris H. Richardson,
Rhoda Barnes (presently resides in Jackson) and George Brown (presently resides in Jackson).
