Ruleville Central High School basketball standout Jacorriah Bracey is averaging 30.8 points per game, which makes her the No.1 ranked sophomore in the state of Mississippi and No. 10 in the nation.
The 16-year-old is definitely at home on the hardwood because she was practically raised on it.
At the age of 3, Bracey was already hanging out at the gym while her mother Chiquita Bracey coached the girl’s basketball team.
The elder Bracey said she has coached Jacorriah on the court for the past three years but in actuality the coaching likely began when she noticed that her adolescent was able to shoot the ball and have it almost reach the goal.
Ruleville’s 3A Region 3 squad is currently 5-1 on the season and Jacorriah has already scored her season-high of 48 points against Amanda Elzy High School.
Her coach/mother said although Jacorriah is extremely humble, sweet-spirited and shy, “Once she gets on the court, she explodes.”
