Accused MDCC arsonist Timothy Jermel Jones was released from the Sunflower County jail on a $115,000 bond around 2:45 p.m., on Thursday afternoon.
Jones, an Indianola resident an owner of TJ’s Photography, is formerly charged with grand larceny, first-degree arson, third-degree arson, felony fleeing and burglary of a dwelling.
According to Sheriff James Haywood, Justice Court Judge Stafford Shurden set Jones’ bond but he made his initial appearance before Judge Gwen Pernell on Thursday.
Jones was being held in connection with the December fire that destroyed a MDCC van and partially destroyed the Stauffer-Wood Administration Building on the college’s campus.
Jones was arrested and booked as a suspect last Friday after leading law enforcement officials on a chase that reportedly began on the Moorhead campus, when he fled from officers after previously agreeing to an interview with officials, and ended at an Indianola residence.
He had been held in the county jail since that time.
