The Starkville Academy Volunteers ended the Indianola Academy Colonels' perfect season on Saturday, with a 21-14 overtime victory.
The game, played at Jackson Academy, was forecasted to be a washout, but the rain held off until moments after Indianola failed to push the ball across from the one-yard line.
IA came into the game 13-0, one of those victories an early-season defeat of the same Starkville team.
The Volunteers exacted their revenge by building a wall against the IA run game, which has been nearly unstoppable all season.
