The Sunflower County Chapter NAACP 5333 will host a mayoral forum at Gentry High School at 6 p.m. tonight.
All mayoral candidates will be present, according to chapter president Charles Modley, and each will be given a chance to present their platform.
The topic of the forum will be education and public safety, Modley said, while a second forum will be held next month on economics.
Modley said WABG’s Woodrow Wilkins will moderate the forum, which will also include introductions from Indianola’s aldermen candidates.
“We’re asking all citizens of Indianola that live in the city limits to come out and participate and fill Gentry High School up,” Modley said.
Modley said there will be security provided for both inside and outside of the event.
