The COVID-19 situation is now impacting the area’s funeral homes.
Sunflower County Coroner Heather Burton said in a release on Friday that changes have been made that will be adopted by Boone Funeral Home, Burton Funeral Home, Byas Funeral Home, Dillon Funeral Home, Redmon Funeral Home and Williams & Lord Funeral Home.
They have all agreed, she said, to offer the following services:
• Graveside services for family members only
• No public visitations
• Private family visitations with 25 people or less
• Arrangement conferences will be limited to 5 people
“We all understand the pain that comes with losing a loved one; however, we are committed to maintaining the health and safety of the families we serve and our funeral staff,” Burton said. “We appreciate your understanding in this difficult situation. I pray that God will continue to bless us all and keep us all healthy and safe.”
