The Indianola Police Department is giving back to the community and has designated November as their “Do Good Month.” Chief Edrick Hall said each division has been charged with deriving some means of sharing with the local citizens. Some officers gave goodie bags to local day care and kindergarten children, others arranged for a visit from Safety Pup, who brought special treats. The investigator division handed out nearly 35 complete Thanksgiving dinners to elderly resident at the John and David Matthews apartment complex, Oscar Giles apartment complex and Indianola Rentals complex. “They went above and beyond,” said Hall.
Turner’s Downtown Market, Sookie’s Restaurant, T&F Construction and Grace Community Church donated the dinners.
