As excitement over this year’s Mississippi Delta Community College Alumni Association’s annual car, tractor and motorcycle show revs up, plans are already in place to make the June 2 event larger than ever.
This year, the car show is leaving the Moorhead campus and going on the road.
The showcase will be held in conjunction with the Annual B.B. King Homecoming Festival, and the vehicles will be on display on the festival grounds during all of the blues, food and fanfare.
One of the car show’s organizers, Debbie Gantz, said they hope to garner lots more exposure for the event by partnering with the festival, and she is hoping for a long-lasting association.
Welding Instructor Roger Wright has already done his part by again designing and constructing the winning trophies.
Gantz said although there will be awards handed out to all place winners, only the top two will receive one of Wright’s unique designs.
Proceeds from the car show are given to the MDCC Alumni Association Fund and Career/Technical Education Scholarships.
