Mississippi Delta Community College has a new softball coach.
Brad Grinstead, formerly assistant softball coach at Lyon College for the past three seasons, was introduced in Moorhead this month.
“I’m excited about the opportunity to lead the program,” Grinstead said in a statement. “I’m looking forward to our first game and bringing a championship program to Mississippi Delta.”
A Colorado native, Grinstead helped to lead the Lyon College program to single-season win records at the college in 2015 and 2016, finishing second in the American Midwest Conference in 2015.
Grinstead has also coached as an assistant at Hendrix College, a Division II school in Arkansas.
“It’s great to have Brad here as the new head softball coach,” says Athletic Director Jeff Tatum. He has hit the ground running from day one, and we’re excited to add him to the athletic department.”
Mississippi Delta’s head coaching position became vacant when former coach Chris Watford took the head coaching position at Washington School.
