Myiesha Smith is hoping the Indianola community will “tagalong” with her in her journey to help people who have been burned out of their homes. Smith’s Girl Scouts project she calls “Tagalongs” is collecting clothing and personal hygiene donations from citizens for victims of home fires.
“A lot of families have been burned out, and I wanted to ease their burden by taking donations,” she told The E-T this week.
She will be stationed at the Indianola City Hall Annex building on Saturday morning from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. She said the first 10 people to come down and donate will receive a box of Tagalongs.
“I made a promise when I joined Girls Scouts to serve God and my community and to help people at all times,” she said.
She said she wants to set an example for other Girl Scouts to always help others when they are in need.
