Last October, I was just two months on the job in Indianola, so I was enjoying a lot of my “firsts” in the community.
One thing that I greatly enjoyed was Community Bank’s Taste of Indianola event.
This is real plus for the community, and it supports two missions in the county that are vital to the well being of so many citizens.
The 2018 Taste of Indianola is Monday, Oct. 22 at 6 p.m. at Community Bank.
All proceeds from ticket sales are split between Delta Mission and Delta Grace.
The money Rev. Herron Wilson received from last year’s event went toward his annual Vacation Bible School event that serves hundreds of children in the community each summer.
The days spent ministering to the youth gives them positive things to do, while hearing positive messages from adult role models.
The funds that Rev. Veronica Pritchard received last year helped to put a new roof on someone’s home here in the community.
Delta Grace is famous for its work on homes of needy families, and the mission has grown to where Pritchard is now housing multiple interns throughout the summer.
I almost failed to mention the many food vendors from around the community who will be on hand with their best recipes.
Tickets are still available for the event, and they can be purchased at Community Bank.
