On Sunday, church congregations across Indianola will gather for the community-wide Thanksgiving Service beginning at 6 p.m., at First Baptist Church, 202 Catchings St., across from the post office.
The Reverend Herron Wilson will deliver the annual Thanksgiving message and other area pastors will assist with the worship service as well.
A mass choir, under the direction of Andy Daniels and the Reverend Dr. Lemondre Hamilton will render music. Anyone interested in singing with the choir should arrive at the church by 5 p.m., one hour before the service, for rehearsal.
The Thanksgiving Service planning committee reminds everyone to bring canned goods to the service to help replenish the Indianola community food pantry at Rasberry United Methodist Church.
Donated items will also assist 2 Classy Civic Organization prepare 250-300 meals for the needy during the Thanksgiving holiday. Any monetary offering from Sunday’s service will be used to adopt needy families at Christmas.
