A new head coach and a new start define this season’s version of the 2025 Gentry High School Rams baseball team.
With new Head Coach Shomari Davis at the helm, the Rams have been honing their skills in preparation for next Tuesday’s season-opening game.
The Rams’ new start includes the goal of not only improving on last year’s 3-13 record, but to also once again reach postseason play.
Serving as the Rams’ opening competition toward reaching that goal is Leland High School, a game in which the Cubs will be visiting the Gentry High field.
The first pitch of this season-opening game is slated to be thrown at 4 p.m.
The Rams’ 18-game schedule includes 10 Region 2-5A contests, with the last 2½ weeks of the season’s schedule totally consumed by regional match ups.
Included in the Rams’ regional competition is Canton High, Cleveland Central High, Greenville High, Holmes County Central High of Lexington, and Yazoo City High School.
