The regular season schedule is rapidly winding down for the Indianola Academy basketball program.
With only three games remaining to play prior to the District 1-4A Tournament, the IA squads will complete their regular season schedule with three consecutive home games.
As for those upcoming trio of home dates, it all begins tonight when Carroll Academy comes to the IA gym for a non-district matchup.
The Lady Colonels will take a 3-12, 0-7 record into tonight’s action while the Colonels own a 1-14, 1-6 won-loss mark.
Next Tuesday will then bring a pair of strong Kirk Academy squads from Grenada to wrap up the district-play portion of this season’s schedule.
Both nights of play will begin with the girls tipping off at 6 p.m. and the boys’ game to follow.
The regular season schedule will then be completed with a January 24 visit by Oak Hill Academy of West Point.
Subsequent postseason action will be next up on the calendar and will initially occur at Kirk Academy.
That school in Grenada will host the District Tournament beginning January 30, an event which offers the opportunity to earn additional postseason play.
In both IA squads’ most recent action this past Tuesday night, a road trip to Clarksdale resulted in twin losses to Lee Academy.
While the Lady Colonels dropped a 31-20 decision, the Colonels fell 55-29 to the Colts.
Other play this past Monday saw a pair of losses absorbed to visiting Central Holmes Christian School of Lexington.
These non-district clashes ended with the Lady Colonels falling by a 46-29 margin while the Colonels suffered a 53-30 loss to the Trojans.
