Indianola’s Junior Auxiliary chapter continued its commitment to investing in local students last week as J.A. and Indianola Academy joined to cut the ribbon on the state’s first outdoor sensory pathway.
“We are grateful to partner with IA to bring this vision to life,” J.A.’s Allison Britt said during the ceremony. “Sensory pathways are designed to provide an engaging space and activity for children to work on gross motor body movement, develop coordination skills, strengthen the core body, increase focus and attention, develop peer relationships and build friendships. Our hope is that this sensory pathway will provide engaging opportunities for our elementary students for many years to come.”
Dozens of elementary students joined the mid-morning ceremony that celebrated the pathway’s arrival.
“We look forward to seeing engaging activities that will result from this project and the fun memories that will be made on this pathway between our lower and upper school,” said IA Elementary Principal Andie Helms.
