Another day-long softball tournament is next up for the Indianola Academy Lady Colonels.
However, the IA squad did have an important District 1-4A game to play this past Wednesday against Kirk Academy of Grenada.
Owning a 4-13, 2-5 record going into this home-field game, results were unavailable at press time.
As for playing this Saturday at Carroll Academy, the IA squad will be one of six teams participating in this challenging tournament.
Competing with IA for the tournament crown this day will be Calhoun Academy of Calhoun City, Carroll Academy, Kirk Academy of Grenada, Manchester Academy of Yazoo City, and Washington School of Greenville.
The Lady Colonels will begin their day’s play at 10:15 a.m. with Washington School serving as the opponent.
A return to the field at 3:15 p.m. will find Calhoun Academy waiting for the Lady Colonels.
Bracket play then begins at 4:30 p.m. with the championship game slated to begin at 9:30 p.m.
Softball action then resumes for IA next Tuesday with a visit to Canton Academy.
First pitch of this non-district game is to be thrown at 6:30 p.m.
