With basketball action winding down as the Christmas holidays approach, the Indianola Academy squads are amid a trio of games this week.
Most recently, the Lady Colonels and the Colonels were in Batesville Thursday night to open their current string of games.
The results of their competition against North Delta School were unavailable at press time.
The IA girls carried a 1-6 record into that game while the Colonels were owners of a 1-4 record as they battled the Green Wave.
However, today the IA squads travel to Manchester Academy in Yazoo City for yet another non-district night of play.
Today’s road trip will then be followed by the final night of IA basketball to be played in the 2025 calendar year.
For next Monday will bring Carroll Academy of Carrollton to the IA gym to take on the Lady Colonels and Colonels.
All nights of play will see the girls taking the court at 6 p.m. with the boys’ game to follow immediately thereafter.
In the IA squads’ most recent competition this past Monday, a visit to the IA gym by Winona Christian School dealt losses to both the Lady Colonels and Colonels.
While the Lady Colonels suffered a 51-15 loss to the Winona squad, the Colonels fell by a 40-31 margin to the Stars.
It would be Kelly Arrington’s six-point game which led the IA girls’ offensive effort while the Colonels were paced by Patrick Davis’s double digit scoring performance against the Stars.
The sophomore would complete his night’s play by posting a dozen points on the IA side of the scoreboard.
