A successful late season run of basketball came to an end last Friday night for the Gentry High Lady Rams.
Opening their participation in the 5A State Playoffs at New Hope High School in Columbus, the Lady Rams saw their season come to a halt after suffering a 62-44 loss to the home-standing Lady Trojans.
Entering the playoffs as the number three seed from Region 2, the Lady Rams saw their final record fall to a 13-15 mark.
The Lady Rams improved their record with a late-season surge – a period of time which saw the squad win four of their final six games played.
Meanwhile, the New Hope High School squad, the number two seed from Region 1, improved their season record to 18-6 with their victory over the Lady Rams.
With their victory, the Lady Trojans moved on to Thursday night’s quarter final round against Region 1 champion Canton High School.
Wearing their Lady Rams uniform for the final time last Friday were four seniors.
Included in this group were Jalexis Galloway, A’Niya Williams, Za’Kinsly Yarbor and Mikayla Young.
