Pearl River came to Moorhead the nationally ranked 14th team in the country and MACCC league leader. They left with a convincing 52-40 win to stay in control of the league and their national ranking.
Pearl River, now 12-1 in the MACCC and 23-2 overall, hold onto their top spot and the Lady Trojans, now 17-5 overall and 7-5 in the MACCC, sit tied for fourth place.
The Lady Wildcats took a 9-0 first-quarter lead and by the third quarter had their biggest lead of 17.
The Lady Trojans traveled to Clarksdale to take on the MACCC’s number two team, Coahoma, on Thursday but not covered due to press time. The Lady Trojans will finish their regular season hosting East Central on Monday, March 3.
The Lady Trojans will focus on their seed for the Region 23 Playoffs.
