On behalf of the Dr. Clinton Battle Mississippi Freedom Trail Marker Planning Committee, we extend heartfelt thanks to the Indianola community and surrounding areas for your overwhelming support during the unveiling of the Mississippi Freedom Trail marker honoring Dr. Clinton Battle. The event was held on September 11, 2025, at Mount Beulah Missionary Baptist Church.
Your presence made the day truly meaningful. The large turnout reflected not only the deep respect for Dr. Battle’s legacy as a courageous physician and civil rights leader, but also the enduring strength of our community when we come together to honor our shared history.
We are especially grateful to the students, teachers, local churches, elected officials, families, and friends who joined us for this historic moment. Dr. Clinton Battle’s family was deeply moved by the outpouring of respect from the community.
