As Mayor of the City of Indianola, every decision I make is guided by one responsibility: serving the best interests of the citizens of our community. My role requires that I lead with integrity, accountability, and a commitment to doing what is right for the people of Indianola.
Recently, there have been claims suggesting that a decision made by this office was personal in nature. I want to make it clear that my decisions are never based on personal matters. They are based solely on what is best for the City of Indianola and the responsibility I have been entrusted with as Mayor.
I want to assure the citizens of Indianola that no decision made by this office is taken lightly. Every action is guided by sound evidence and a commitment to integrity, especially when it becomes necessary to address and correct wrongdoing.
Unfortunately, it has become clear that certain statements that have been made publicly are not accurate. The truth has a way of revealing itself. I have no desire to embarrass anyone, but continued misinformation may ultimately lead us in that direction.
As Mayor, my responsibility is to do what is right for the City of Indianola, even when those decisions may not align with popular opinion. Leadership is not about doing what is easy or widely accepted; it is about doing what is right. My responsibility is not to pressure, politics, or public opinion. My responsibility is to the people of Indianola.
The citizens of Indianola deserve leadership that will not look the other way. When concerns arise, they must be addressed with honesty and accountability. I was elected to serve the people of Indianola, and I will always choose what is right for this city over what is convenient.
I remain committed to serving our community with fairness, integrity, and a steadfast focus on what is best for the people of Indianola.
Mayor Ken Featherstone,
City of Indianola
