Dear editor,
Happy Memorial Day from our executive director, Pastor Wilson, his staff, and all the seniors at Delta Missions.
We are still excited about our member, Ms. Betty J. Butler’s, anniversary and retirement after 44 years of being the secretary at her church, First United Baptist Church, where she is also a member. Some people don't live that long or last on a job that long. Congrats again Ms. Butler and may God continue to bless you.
Our last session at Delta Missions was last Wednesday, May 21. We will be back on August 20. We really had a good time on our last day. Our director had us to dress out in our western attire and he had us to bring a single picture and didn't tell us why. When we got there we found out why – he had a “Wanted” sign on the wall with all our pictures placed under it. Pastor Wilson had our cook to prepare lunch for us and it was delicious. Sarah and her helpers they laid it out. We had fried drummets, chicken salad, tuna salad, mac & cheese, green salad, fruit salad (crisp to perfection), and a variety of beverages including homemade lemonade. The tables were dressed and you could eat in or carry out. Most everyone carried some out and ate some in. Pastor Wilson had us on the “Wanted” list but he fed us good before he turned us in (Smile). We really celebrated – we had our boots on the ground.
We would like to say so long to everyone and thanks a million. We are so blessed to have so many people be so kind to us because you didn't have to do it but you did out of the kindness of your hearts. We thank you and we love you and may God forever bless.
Sincerely,
Annie Butcher
