The Sunflower County Library System announces these library programs for February:
Indianola Library: Storytime at 9:30 a.m. – “Ten Thinks I Love About You” by Daniel Kirk on Feb. 11th, “Llama Llama Loves to Read” by Anna Dewdney on Feb. 18th and “Dragons Love Tacos” by Adam Rubin on Feb. 25th. These programs benefit children ages 0-5.
Join us for Virtual Storytime featuring “My Loose Tooth” by Stephen Krensky on the Sunflower County Library YouTube Channel beginning Feb. 6th. This program benefits children ages 0-5.
Join us for the Pages of the Heart Reading Challenge Feb. 1st to 28th. Join us this February as you dive into your favorite books by completing a reading challenge with your selected book. Return the completed reading challenge card when you return your borrowed book. The card will be placed in a Reading Challenge collection box and at the end of the month, a drawing will occur. The lucky winner will receive a small prize as a reward for participating. This month’s prize is a basket filled with a variety of candies – something nice to have while you enjoy your next book. Please ask at the library’s Circulation Desk for more details. All library branches will be offering the reading challenge. This program benefits people of all ages.
Join us for Blind Date with a Book from Feb. 1st to 14th at the Indianola Library. Step out of your comfort zone and fall head over heels with a new book. This program benefits adults.
Join us and get creative with making Love Bugs, a fun craft for a sweet Valentine Gift, on Feb. 10th at 4 p.m. at the Indianola Library. This program benefits children ages 0-5.
Join us for our Valentine Bookmark Decorating Program on Feb. 8th at 10 a.m. at the Indianola Library. Make beautiful bookmarks to celebrate the season of love. This program benefits all ages.
Join us for Valentine’s Day Storytime and Craft on Feb. 10th at 4 p.m. at the Indianola, Moorhead, and Drew libraries and on Feb. 11th at 4 p.m. at the Ruleville, and Inverness libraries. This program benefits children ages 0-5.
Join us for Cocoa and Craft on Feb. 18th at 4 p.m. at the Indianola Library, on Feb. 19th at 4 p.m. at the Drew and Moorhead libraries, and on Feb. 20th at 4 p.m. at the Inverness and Ruleville libraries. This program benefits adults and will introduce the use of air-dry clay.
Join us for Guess Who Game Night on Feb. 20th at 4:30 p.m. at the Indianola Library. This program benefits all ages. Enjoy the fun of using your detective skills and becoming the “Guess Who” champion.
Join us for Friendship Game Hour on Feb. 11th at 4 p.m. at the Indianola Library, on Feb. 24th at 4 p.m. at the Moorhead Library, on Feb. 25th at 4 p.m. at the Inverness Library, on Feb. 26th at 4 p.m. at the Drew Library, and on Feb. 27th at 4 p.m. at the Ruleville Library. Join us for fun and games such as Bingo and community jigsaw puzzles during The Social Hour on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Indianola Library. What a good way to meet new friends and keep your mind sharp! This program benefits our senior adults in the community.
Math building skills sessions are available every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Indianola Library. Get a jump start on mastering math. This program benefits first grade through twelfth grade school students.
Join us for Chair Aerobics and get fit while you sit every 4th Thursday of each month from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Indianola Library. This program benefits adults.
The Sunflower County Library System will continue to offer self-paced digital literacy sessions as a regular service. Contact your local library to set up a session. This program benefits adults.
