This headline is not something I made up but read in someone else’s work. It struck a chord with me and I appreciated that this came from a statement that Charlie Chaplin said. Chaplin was a comedian that left us with many great thoughts. He lived for 88 years and gave us a pathway for to which we should all adhere.
The year of 2020 was a tough year for all the people in the world. The coronavirus that hit our nation and the rest of the world caused much strain on all of us. People were worried that the pandemic might be the end of times and it possibly could be. We lost many of our family members, friends, and neighbors due to the pandemic. The nation suffered economically, and our leaders searched frantically for answers.
I passionately believe that God was and is getting our attention once again. We, as a nation, have gotten away from what God has allowed us to have and gone with the intuitions of man and given in to modern inventions. The family unit is not as it used to be. There are too many one parent households and kids are attached to electronic games more so than enjoying the outdoors.
We are living in a world where God has been put on the backburner and the world is dictating what we should be doing and with whom we should be associating. It is going to stay this way until we, as a nation, do what we are told in 2 Chronicles 7:14, “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.”
I am reprinting four of the statements Chaplin made and they should speak volumes to anyone that reads or hears them. 1. Nothing is forever in this world, not even our problems. 2. I love walking in the rain because no one can see my tears. 3. The most lost day in life is the day we don’t laugh. 4. Six best doctors in the world…the sun, rest, exercise, diet, self-respect, and friends.
Stick to them at all stages of your life and enjoy a healthy life. If you see the moon, you will see the beauty of God. If you see the sun, you will see the power of God. If you see a mirror, you will see God’s best creation, so believe it.
We are all tourists, God is our travel agent who has already identified our routes, bookings, and destinations…trust him and enjoy life. Life is a journey! Therefore, live today! Tomorrow may not be.
It is my hope that all who read this will come away with the same feeling about life as I have. For me personally, I am in my later years and I can remember an America that put God first and trusted Him to guide our nation. We need to go back to this, and I feel it should start with the family unit. I have always said and heeded to, that a family that prays together, stays together.
We can only heal our nation when we put God first. We can only heal our nation when we, as individuals, accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior and allow Him to guide our lives. We can only do this when we read the Bible to our children and nurture them to be open to God’s call for them.
