A native of Moorhead who decided to enjoy her retirement from the Air Force in Indianola, Marquita George felt this was a good area to get a head start on her business.
George is the owner of Ambitious Golden Touch Mobile Spa. As of right now, she says her business is providing services in Indianola and some surrounding areas as well.
After retiring from the Air Force in 2018, she wasn’t quite sure what she wanted to do with herself in a new environment. George knew that she wanted to get to know people, and she wanted to make a difference.
George recalled moments from the past when her grandmother would ask her for massages.
“I had no idea of what I was doing, but she enjoyed it,” she stated.
One day when she was out and about, she came across some hot stones, associating them with massages. She believed this was a sign from her grandmother to “Just do it!”
That same day George went home and enrolled in Concorde Career College’s Massage Therapy Program.
She graduated in the top of her class and was deemed a Lamplighter.
Choosing the name “Ambitious” for her business, she continued to be inspired by her late grandmother, Almeta Burns Lee, Almeta meaning ambitious/driven.
She decided to add this to her business because she believes she has the ambition to make her clients feels at least 50% better than when they walked through her doors.
“The health and well-being of my clients are my top priority,” she explained.
She has been in business for roughly a year and her business has been mobile for about four months. She wants her clients to know that when they book sessions, she can come to wherever they are. Some services AGT provides are Swedish massages, deep tissue, stretch sessions and many more. Within the next five years, she sees this business becoming a thriving business with expansions across Mississippi and other states.
