Police are investigating a Thursday afternoon non-fatal shooting on the Moorhead campus of Mississippi Delta Community College.
One suspect is in custody and one person has been airlifted in stable condition.
MDCC campus police were alerted to the shooting at around 3:30 p.m. at the Edwards-Stonestreet Men’s Residence Hall, according to a release from MDCC.
One male student was airlifted to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson and is listed in stable condition, the release said.
“The investigation is ongoing and could lead to additional arrests,” the release said. “The Mississippi Delta Community College Moorhead campus is on lockdown until the end of the semester, with checkpoints placed at all entrances. More information will be released as updates occur.”
