Indianola police did not officially report any arrests during the week of June 25 to July 2.

On June 25 at 1:45 a.m., a 23-year-old Easy Street woman said she was traveling south on Garrard Avenue near Porter Drive when someone shot into her vehicle and hit her in the left lower hip. She was reportedly flown to Jackson for medical treatment. Another Easy Street woman is also mentioned in the report.
On June 25 at 2:59 a.m., officers were called to the 1200 block of B.B. King Road regarding a trespassing. Someone said there was an attempted break-in to their vehicle, but the culprit was unsuccessful.
On June 25 at 6:14 a.m., a 41-year-old Hoover Street man said someone shot into his home. The man said he woke up around 6 a.m., to the sound of glass breaking in his kitchen, and when he got up to go check, he discovered several bullet holes that caused damage to his east and west side doors, his stove, microwave, couch and bathtub. The man said he did not hear any shots during the night.
On June 25 at 8:02 a.m., a 41-year-old South Walker Street man said someone stole a black Ruger 9mm handgun from his vehicle. He said the front driver's side door was left unlocked. No other items were reported as stolen.
On June 25 at 2:46 p.m., officers were called to South Sunflower County Hospital where a 20-year-old Hoover Street man said a black Mercedes SUV pulled up in front of his home, several men got out wearing all black with ski masks and started shooting. The man said he was hit in his right leg while he was attempting to run into the house. An undescribed juvenile was also reportedly wounded in the left shoulder.
On June 25 at 8:51 a.m., a Hampton Street resident said someone broke into his storage shed by prying the lock off of the east-side door. Several items were reportedly stolen and video surveillance shows four men were involved in the theft.
On June 26 at 5:54 a.m., an Adair Street woman said that when she woke up she found that her front door had unspecified damage.
On June 26 at 3:55 p.m., a 20-year-old Flanagan Road, Leland, man said someone broke into his car in Washington County and stole some checks. Someone later cashed a $500 forged check at Planters Bank in Indianola.
On June 27 at 2:16 a.m., officers were called to the 600 block of Beaverdam Road about several men trying to break into a vehicle. The officers also noticed an unoccupied Hyundai with the motor running. The car had been reported stolen.
On June 27 at 6:27 p.m., an unnamed person reportedly stole the fuse box and the computer from a 2001 GMC Yukon on Quick Circle. The owner said the suspect was supposed to come by and take the motor out, but came by when he was not at home instead and stole the items.
On June 28 at 12:10 a.m., a woman said that she was assaulted in the area of Hanna Avenue and Chandler Street. The woman said she was walking when three men approached her and one of them called her by name and hit her with and unknown object, on the left side of her face. Nonetheless, she was able to get away and run to the police station.
On June 28 at 11:43 a.m., officers were told that an unknown person went into a vehicle in the 700 block of West Gresham Street and stole three bottles of medication from the glove compartment. The vehicle’s doors had been left unlocked.
On June 28 at 7:54 p.m., officers were called to the 1000 block of Bates Street about a domestic dispute. A woman said that her child's father took money from her card, which started an argument. While police were present the woman assaulted the man and was reportedly arrested and transported to the police station.
On June 29 at 7:16 a.m., officers were called to the 1000 block of U.S. Highway 82 East, the American Inn where someone reportedly stole a 2018 Honda Accord. Video footage shows a man in the parking lot going to multiple vehicles. The stolen vehicle was later found in Greenville.
On June 29 at 8:38 p.m., an Adair Street man said a woman caused damage to the front of his RV camper by breaking the front windshield and damaging the passenger side window and side door.
On June 30 at 5:04 p.m., officers were called to the 400 block of Lincoln Street because of shots fired. They found a gunshot victim, with an apparent stomach wound, lying face down on the ground. The victim was able to identify his shooter before being transported to Delta Health – The Medical Center and the suspect was reportedly arrested and taken to the county jail.
On July 1 at 12:42 p.m., a Pershing Avenue woman said that while she was away from home someone broke into her house and stole four AC units with a total value of $940, one recliner chair valued at $320, a lawn mower valued $400, a 50-inch Onn TV valued at $299, two 32-inch Hisense TVs valued at $296, an assortment of clothes valued at $350, and 27 pairs of tennis shoes valued at $4,320.
On July 1 at 11:14 a.m., a woman said someone stole her wallet and used her bank card that she left in the shopping basket in the Walmart parking lot.
On July 1 at 3:04 p.m., a Hampton Street man said he was threatened by an unnamed person to whom he owed money.
On July 2 at 10:44 a.m., officers were called to the 600 block of West Elmwood Circle regarding an escort. A man said his ex-wife wanted him to remove his truck. When the ex-wife arrived she assaulted the man in front of the officers and was consequently arrested and charged with domestic simple assault.
On July 2 at 6:24 p.m., a Crane Street woman said she allowed her brother and uncle to use her vehicle to go to the store, but after an unspecified amount of time had passed she contacted her brother who said that he had stepped out of the vehicle to use the bathroom and when he got back the car was gone. The vehicle could possibly be headed to Arkansas.
On July 1 at 10:05 a.m., a woman said someone broke into her storage unit on North Martin Luther King Drive and stole her rims.

On July 2 at 2:14 p.m., Maleek Triplett, 23, 203 Slim St., was arrested and charged with disturbing the peace (public or peace of others), carrying a concealed weapon, simple assault to put fear by physical menace and felony malicious mischief.
On July 2 at 5:00 p.m., Christopher Douglas Showah, 53, 204 West Clover Drive was arrested and charged with probation violation.
On July 3 at 2:30 p.m., Jessica Rhiannon Ferretti, 37, 1100 6th Ave., Cleveland was arrested and charged with drug court violation.
On July 3 at 4:00 p.m., Jonathan Carson, 43, 1400 Pine St., Moorhead was arrested and charged with probation violation.
On July 4 at 5:30 a.m., David Charles Lee, 21, 520 North MLK St., Sunflower was arrested and charged with discharging a firearm within the city limits and three counts of attempted murder.
On July 4 at 5:30 a.m., Milton Jecolby Chapman, 39, 520 North MLK St., Sunflower was arrested and charged with discharging a firearm within the city limits and three counts of attempted murder.
On July 4 at 4:30 p.m., DeJuan Romero, 38, 288 South First St., Apt., 29, Drew was arrested and charged with aggravated assault.
On Friday at 1:30 p.m., Randy Whitehead, 44, 610 Chandler St., was arrested and charged with armed robbery, simple assault to put fear by physical menace and intimidating a witness.
On Friday at 419 p.m., Michael Olyndo Peterson, 44, 210 Cox St., was arrested and charged with domestic violence with injuries (first offense) and home invasion.
On Saturday at 1:00 p.m., Johnny Israel, 64, 604 Choctaw Circle was arrested and charged with contempt of municipal court (failure to appear) and shoplifting.
On Sunday at 2:00 p.m., Archie Gilson, 47, 110 Whittington Road was arrested and charged with breaking and entering.
On Monday at 12:26 p.m., Darryl Coates, 58, 315 Hortin Villa, Belzoni was arrested and charged with shoplifting.
On Monday at 1:00 p.m., Willie Joe Cain, 53, 110 Torino Drive was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct (failure to comply with the requests or commands of law enforcement officers).
