The Gentry High Rams are still waiting to play their first baseball game of the 2022 season.
With the rain continuing to create havoc with their schedule, the Rams are scheduled to try once again to play today.
If their home field is dry enough, the Rams will take on the visiting Shaw High Eagles at 4 p.m.
Today’s scheduled contest will not only serve as the Rams’ first game of the season, but also as their one and only opportunity to prepare for their Region 3-4A competition.
That regional play begins next week and features a run of six consecutive match-ups against Region 3-4A opponents.
The Rams will open their regional portion of their schedule next Tuesday at Yazoo City High School by taking on the Indians in a 5 p.m. baseball clash.
