Now in the middle of Region 3-3A play, the Thomas Edwards High Tigers have the opportunity to catch their breath this week.
Owning a 2-5, 0-2 record following last Friday’s 46-0 regional road loss to Humphreys County High in Belzoni, the Tigers have an open date on their schedule.
This idle week allows for the Tigers to regroup in preparation for their final two games of the season.
Both of those upcoming regional contests will impact playoff eligibility; and that initial October 20 clash against Yazoo County will see Homecoming being celebrated at Thomas Edwards High School.
Last Friday night in Belzoni, the Tigers fell prey to a strong Humphreys County High squad which flexed its defensive muscle in the shutout.
The Cowboys improved their record to a 6-1, 2-0 mark with the victory over the Tigers.
