The math of the situation is tricky but true for the Gentry High Rams baseball team.
For it will take three additional season-ending regional victories for the 2-11, 0-9 Rams to worm their way into the State 5A Playoffs.
Slated to begin the week of April 22, the Rams’ efforts to be a part of that postseason play will begin next Monday on the road with a regional doubleheader against Canton High School.
The first pitch of this critical twin-bill is set to be thrown at 2 p.m.
Should the Rams claim victories in both outings against Canton High, one final victory next Tuesday over a strong Yazoo City High squad will clinch the Rams a postseason playoff berth.
The potential doubleheader against the Indians in Yazoo City is set to begin at 4 p.m.
In the Rams’ latest baseball action on April 4, a home-field clash with Cleveland Central High School yielded a 17-2 loss for the Gentry High squad.
