A recent double overtime district victory by the Indianola Academy Colonels has now taken the IA basketball teams into a four-game run of home-dates.
This extended string of home-court appearances began Thursday night when Carroll Academy visited for a non-district contest.
While results of those games were unavailable at press-time, tonight the IA squads will host non-district foe St. Aloysius High School of Vicksburg.
Tonight’s second game of this current run of home games will see 6-11, 1-3 Lady Colonels tipping off at 6 p.m.
Meanwhile, the 2-11, 1-3 Colonels will follow immediately thereafter.
In their recent Tuesday night action, the Colonels traveled to Kirk Academy in Grenada and claimed their exciting 47-44 double overtime victory over the Raiders.
It would be EJ Hall doing the scoring honors for the Colonels as the senior dropped 16 points through the basket in this District 1-4A clash.
In girls’ play that night, the Lady Colonels fell to a strong Kirk Academy team by a 53-21 margin.
As for additional upcoming basketball play, next Tuesday will bring North Delta School of Batesville to the IA gymnasium for another district match-up.
Game times are 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. for the IA squads.
