After tough losses at Tunica Academy last week, Mother Nature and her arctic boyfriend, Mr. Snow Miser blew into the Delta and canceled basketball games for North Sunflower Academy.
The deep freeze weather cancelled Monday’s home matchup with Delta Academy and Tuesday’s against DeSoto Academy.
At press time, the school had not decided about the Friday, January 19 home game with Regents Academy and hopefully things will be somewhat back to normal to start the week against West Memphis at home on Monday January 22.
Lady Rebel Head Coach Dr. Jeff Andrews hopes the break will help his team.
“We’ll try to make up today’s game (DeSoto) on Saturday at 2:00 p.m.,” Coach Andrews said.
Against Tunica Academy, the JV played well the first half but “we’re just not a second half team. In the high school game, we score more points but we just couldn’t stop them from scoring.”
