Needing to shrug off last week’s season-opening road loss, the North Sunflower Academy Rebels football team is hoping their own turf will aid in rebounding into the win column.
After the Rebels suffered a 46-0 loss at Tunica Academy last Friday, tonight’s 7 p.m. kickoff will be against the Delta Academy Raiders of Marks.
The Raiders will come to the NSA campus after opening their season last Friday with a nail-biting 58-56 win over Porter’s Chapel Academy of Vicksburg.
Tonight’s non-district game will be the 38th meeting in this series between NSA and Delta Academy.
Although the Rebels own a 21-16 series advantage over the school from Marks, last year the Raiders claimed a 30-24 victory.
Delta Academy completed their 2023 campaign with a 3-8 record, which included a first-round playoff appearance.
