While heavy rains created a pause in their baseball schedule this past week, the Gentry High Rams attempted to play again Thursday evening.
Taking the field against the Bulldogs of Holmes County Central High, the Rams continued their 13-game gauntlet of Region 2-5A matchups.
Although the results of this game were unavailable at press time, the Rams took a 2-6, 0-4 record into that night’s play against the team from Lexington.
Additional upcoming action resumes Monday when Yazoo City High School visits the Gentry High field for another regional clash.
The first pitch of this contest is set to be thrown at 4 p.m.
While this past Tuesday’s regional series opener with Cleveland Central High was rained out, the Rams and the Wolves will try to play again next Thursday.
On that day Cleveland Central High will come to town for a 4 p.m. game.
In other recent baseball action, last Friday the Rams took a trip to Greenville High School and suffered an 11-1 regional loss to the Hornets.
It was a game, which was for five innings, very competitive.
However, a 3-1 game unraveled for the Rams in the top of the sixth frame when the Hornets distanced themselves from the Gentry High squad.
Pitcher Jordan Davis turned in a solid performance for the Rams as the righthander struck out seven Hornets.
