Dear editor,
On Tuesday, April 9, around 3:30 pm. myself and my friend were walking my 9 -month-old corgi, Lilibet.
The "Lilibrat" slid out of her harness, as the rain was picking up.
I keep walking, hoping she would follow me home from Sunflower and Percy and praying that none of the Indianola roaming dogs would approach us. We got two blocks to the library when Lilibet saw a person walking and darted across the road to get acquainted.
An officer in a police car saw the puppy dancing around in the street and me darting to and fro trying to grab hold of the wet puppy- dog in the rain. He blocked the road while I ran around trying to catch her.
Eventually, the puppy tuckered out and walked over to my friend.
Late and wet, I thanked the officer for his protection during our lost puppy predicament.
Thank you, man in blue.

P.S.: Lilibet is signed up for dog obedience in the summer
