First Methodist Church, Indianola and Delta Grace engaged in humanitarian work three days during spring break week.
Three families/homeowners in Sunflower County embraced the team of youth and adult mission volunteers with smiles and humble hearts as the team entered their homes to do minor home repairs for the homeowner.
Delta Grace is known for remodeling kitchens, replacing doors, painting the outside and inside of homes, performing plumbing work, and much more, all by volunteers.
Team members offered what they had when it came to skill levels.
Some of the members are experienced carpenters, while others are novices.
The mission efforts welcome all skill levels of workers while maintaining and focusing on sharing the love of Jesus.
The mission's trip closed with a heartfelt worship service and fellowship at the First Methodist Church, shared by volunteers, family, friends, and homeowners.
"It starts with you, and tonight, it ends with worshiping you. We reflect on memories made this week," shared Michael Davis, associate pastor at FMC.
Volunteers, workers, teammates, and leaders shared their experiences while viewing a slide show of the three-day mission's accomplishments.
Elizabeth (Lizzie) Washington, a first-time volunteer with Delta Grace, shared at the event's end, "I cannot say how grateful I am for the opportunity to participate in the FMC and Delta Grace Spring Break 2024 project. The past three days have been an incredible learning and serving experience. I have had the privilege of meeting some amazing leaders, hard-working, and hilarious (yet dedicated) teenagers and adults. I am so thankful for my teammates' moral support, encouragement, and warm welcome. Most importantly, I am grateful for the opportunity to spread the love of Jesus through our work. I am excited for the future and look forward to participating in more projects with FMC and Delta Grace!"
