If all of us will stop and reminisce a minute or two we will probably think of someone who was a great influence on our lives.
For me it was the people whom I went to church with. They taught me so much about life from the lives they were living. They taught me about hard work, compassion, and love. Their faith and belief in our Heavenly Father were exemplary. Any of us who grow and mature in life will find that these are essentials for good living.
One of my favorite songs is by Steven Green and called “Find us Faithful.” I often wonder how the people who come behind me will find me.
Was I faithful to my God and fellow citizen? Did I leave something that will nurture and lead someone down the right path?
I am saddened by the turmoil that is going on in our country today. We have men and women in prominent positions who are yielding to the people of the world and are continually trying to drag down the Christians with them.
We have allowed these self-appointed contributors to our constitution to play on the words of this great document and seize the opportunity of making laws for the land that I personally believe are wrong. It simply amazes me that this constitution worked for over two hundred years and now we are allowing men to interpret it anyway they want to.
I firmly believe that one of the downfalls of this great country is the absence of prayer in our schools. We allowed the voice of the minority to rule. Now there are other groups who have come forth and are setting the rules for their convenience and not for the majority.
I have no ill will toward these people, but I am old fashioned enough to remember that the majority rules and everyone obeys the rules. Equal rights are a good thing and I believe everyone should be treated equally but we have gone overboard with some of these decisions.
We need to remember what David wrote in Psalm 27:1. “The Lord is my light and my salvation, who shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life of whom shall I be afraid?
We have become a people who are afraid to stand up for Christian beliefs because the rules of man have taken hold of our society and we have taken our focus off Jesus.
We need to become a repentant nation and turn our eyes back to the one and only true God.
“O may all who come behind us find us faithful.”
