The City of Indianola will be without a financial consultant come June 1.
The city is parting ways with Dr. Phyllis Rhodes on May 31 and is seeking someone to fill the financial consultant position.
Rhodes had been working with the city since the summer of 2023.
The city has been in contact with Steve Oso, who works for the city of Greenville and has a history of working with Indianola.
Oso discussed with the mayor that if the city were to hire him, he would like to be under a three-year contract.
“That is not possible,” said Ward 4 Alderman Marvin Elder, noting that a three-year contract would obligate the next board to those terms.
Oso is available to start work June 1, but he does not officially have the position.
The board made a motion to advertise and hire a new financial consultant.
