Indianola’s new city clerk, Angela Rush Goodwin, brought to the board of aldermen a question about the use of Delta Computer Systems for accounting management.
According to Goodwin, Delta Computer Systems is up for renewal October 1. She stated that she had a discussion on whether they should continue using the software or should it be replaced. A little information was provided about the existing software that is being used currently.
The software that is being used is a 1980 version. “We are using F keys to maneuver, it is very much outdated,” the city clerk explained.
Although Delta Computer Systems has offered solutions, she stated that they were not necessarily sure it will be beneficial to the city of Indianola to continue the use of it.
“I’ve noticed since I’ve been here that nothing is secure,” Goodwin stated, “We must change that immediately.”
Goodwin asked the board to consider recommendations on two replacement systems, and she said she will provide costs for them at the next board meeting.
