Sunflower County EMS Report On Monday, December 2 at 9:25am, the Indianola Fire Department responded to a potential gas leak in the 600 block of Birdsong Street. On Tuesday, December 3 at 3:56pm, Rescue 1 responded to a single vehicle crash at the intersection of US Highway 82 West and Airport Road. The crash was a result of the driver experiencing a medical emergency. The driver was transported by MedStat EMS. On Wednesday, December 4 at 12:21am, the Ruleville Volunteer Fire Department responded to a report of smoke odor in a residence in the 200 block of North Chester Avenue. On Wednesday, December 4 at 4:37pm, the Ruleville Volunteer Fire Department responded to a residential smoke alarm activation in the 400 block of Tolbert Street. On Thursday, December 5 at 1:03pm, the Moorhead Volunteer Fire Department responded to a report of smoke coming from a water heater at a residence in the 1300 block of Pine Street. On Saturday, December 7 at 7:53am, Rescue 1 and the Indianola Fire Department responded to a single-vehicle crash in the 1600 range of US Highway 82 West. The driver of the vehicle was transported by MedStat EMS for further evaluation. On Sunday, December 8 at 2:20pm, Rescue 1 and Rescue 3 responded to a report of an 18-wheeler off the embankment of US Highway 82 East at the Sunflower River bridge between Indianola and Moorhead. There were no injuries. The driver reported he pulled to the shoulder to check a piece of equipment and a portion of the shoulder gave way. On Sunday, December 8 at 10:42pm, the Drew Volunteer Fire Department responded to an electrical fire at Driftwood Apartments on Maxwell Avenue. The Ruleville Volunteer Fire Department was also alerted, but canceled while enroute.
