The youngest mayor in the United States, Jaylen Smith, will be making a visit to a local Sunflower County church.
Mayor Smith of Earle, Ark. has been invited to Saint John M.B. Church in Inverness to be the youth day speaker.
This will kick off at 2 p.m. on May 28.
The church is located at 235 Woodburn Road in Inverness.
At age 18, he became one of the youngest mayors ever elected in the United States.
In 2022, running as a Democratic Party candidate, Smith won the election to be the mayor of Earle.
He won 235 votes, beating his rival candidate Nemi Matthews, who received 185 votes.
He was sworn into office on January 3, 2023.
