A new high school softball season is now set to begin.
And that season start brings a bevy of softball games awaiting the Indianola Academy Lady Colonels this next week.
The 2021 season will officially open with this Friday’s 5 p.m. Chism Park match-up against Heritage Academy of Columbus.
However, this Saturday will bring a road trip to Winona Christian School where the Lady Colonels will participate in that school’s annual tournament.
The Lady Colonels will initially take the field at 11:30 a.m. against Manchester Academy of Yazoo City.
This will be followed by additional action at 2 p.m. when IA and Carroll Academy will compete against each other.
The balance of Saturday’s action is to be determined by the outcome of IA’s first pair of contests.
Following a day’s rest, the IA squad will then travel to Washington School in Greenville on Monday.
Additional action occurs next Tuesday taking the Lady Colonels to Rolling Fork where they will take on Sharkey-Issaquena Academy.
First pitch on both dates is scheduled to be thrown at 4 p.m.
